Releasing the Holy Spirit

Coming alive in the power of the Holy Spirit is a great privilege for the believer in Jesus Christ, a privilege given when we are baptized in water and the Spirit. However, many Christians do not walk in the power of the Spirit because they either are unaware of this aspect of the Christian life, or they are uncomfortable or unsure of it. In this seminar we look first at the scriptural and historical understanding of baptism in the Spirit, and then explore the practical methods of releasing the power of the spiritual gifts in our lives, and praying for the baptism in the Spirit with others.

Marriage is a sacrament, and as such illustrates the union of the believer with God. Marriage, as any aspect of the spiritual life, therefore is both profound and mysterious. It is no wonder that so few people understand the various conflicts and difficulties in the marriage relationship. This seminar is an introduction to the meaning of marriage, as well as a practical workshop on understanding our differences and likeness, our personalities, and love languages, and also how to better communicate in order to foster closer relationships and so improve marriages and family life.

The great commandment is to love God completely and your neighbor as yourself. Part of loving your neighbor is to help them live the most joyous, fullest and healthiest life possible. This is the great commission, to bring all people into the fullness of the kingdom and a life in Jesus Christ. This seminar will assist you in learning to share your testimony with others; to share why being a Christian in the only way to leading that full, joyous, prosperous, and beautiful life that every human being is searching for. We will learn to overcome our resistance to talking to others about Jesus, and the best ways of assisting others into recognizing the truth who is Jesus Christ.

The liturgies of the mass and the daily offices are much more than mere formalities, or traditional hold-overs of the past. The manner in which we worship informs are basic beliefs about God and who we are with God. They teach us how to worship, and even how to live a spiritual life that will lead us to that perfection in love that Jesus calls us to in Matthew 5:48. This seminar begins with a teaching on the understanding of why we do what we do in worship, and follows with a practical step-by-step instruction in liturgical actions with an explanation of each step’s purpose and meaning. This seminar is geared to both adults and older children.

It has rightly been said that one cannot fully preach the Gospel without a healing ministry. Held in conjunction with St. Brigid’s Healing Guild, these seminars are designed to equip individuals to engage in the healing prayer ministry. Many feel moved to embark upon a ministry of healing prayer, however few are well versed in this ministry. Utilizing a combination of experiential practice, discussion and a viewing of teachings from Francis & Judith MacNutt’s school at their Christian Healing Ministries Center, this course is intended to accomplish two purposes: first, to assist in determining if you have a calling to a healing prayer work, and second, to prepare in a balanced manner those called to be able to participate in prayer ministry.

Dreams and visions have always been an essential part of the spiritual life. We find God speaking in dreams throughout the Old and New Testaments. We find guidance through dreams to have been an important aspect of the saint’s lives throughout history. However, few are like Daniel being given a divine faculty to interpret dreams. Therefore, most people just ignore dreams, and this to their detriment. This seminar will assist in beginning to both respect and understanding these messages of the night and help in learning both discernment and guidance for our lives.
