From the famous sculptures of Michelangelo’s Pietà and Bernini’s Ecstasy of St. Theresa to the less well known paintings of abstract expressionist Mark Rothko to popular films, art has always been an important influence in every culture. Art is also a vital manner of expressing some of the essential truths of life. Whether through music, painting, literature, or film, being informed by art is equally vital to our faith. The Church throughout the ages has been the purveyor and guardian of some of the best expressions of art every produced.

For this purpose, The Arts at St. David’s introduces and presents differing approaches to art -- to inform and discuss – to promote the best of our human nature, and to allow these deep symbols to change our lives and our community. By means of films, music,
    dramatic readings, art exhibits, and reviews of books, we explore the import of the arts in our lives.
